1.
I knew that you weren't mine, And I crossed that line by spending all my time To be close to you I've never felt more alive then when I'm by your side. That smile you gave to me It makes me realize that that look in your eyes Was just for me Let's take a chance and not have to say, "What might have been." And the hardest part is just letting go Of someone you've loved for some time, I know. But you don't need me to say That it's easier said than done baby, We have some history. And god I know, Cause I've been there too.
2.
I was never one for telling lies. I'll always be honest with you, At least I'll try. I'll always let you know what's on my mind, Because I love you. I never wanted you to have to lie, I'm so sorry if I've made you cry. When I ignore you, I'm trying to hide That I love you. I love you, and you know. And I think you love me too.
3.
To Be Alone 02:14
When I look at you, you know. I'm looking straight into your soul But it scares you, so you look away. In your fright you turn and say, "It's not fair...I just need to be alone" But you don't have to be alone. If you did you shouldn't say, "I love you." and pretty things to me Or look at me with longing eyes, and such slight smiles you can't disguise How you feel. How you feel about me too But still you say, "I need to be alone" Then I'll be alone with you.
4.
On the day we first met, I knew that you'd be someone I'd never forget. And all the time we've spent's felt like a dream. Just tell me you love me, You say you're not ready. That's alright, Take your time. I've waited this long. To hold you, and call you mine. To kiss you, just one more time. I look over my back, And I see you look back. That smile that you crack, Will always bring me back to you.
5.
When I was a younger man Thought I had everything planned Thought I'd have a family Or at least somebody who loved me. Where'd I go wrong? I've spent so much time alone Wondering why I haven't grown Enough to see my poor heart's To easily given and broken apart. Where'd I go wrong? Looks like right now I'm bound To wander forever alone. Where'd I go wrong?

about

"Chasing the Wind". From the beginning, I knew that I wanted this to be an album that was as authentic and real sounding as possible, so acoustic instruments were the way to go. I had most of the instruments I needed at my fingertips (guitar, piano, banjo, mandolin, etc.), but I wasn't sure how I was going to get a good bass sound without using samples or an electric bass. Then I remembered that I knew an incredibly talented and beautiful soul, Colleen Rudy, who played the upright bass. I somehow convinced her to take part in this project, and I'm forever grateful that she agreed. With her on board, my roommate, bandmate, and engineer, Toby Mason, and I began the recording process. After a few months of recording, rerecording, emailing, mailing, calling, mixing, and remixing,...here we are. I know the subject matter is very cliche, and my lyrics are sometimes too literal...but I hope some of you can relate to the material, if not lyrically, then at least musically.
